I am looking for a turkish recipe that uses a flour dough and fries it on a hot plate and then fills it with
Fetta Cheese and spinache with a squeaze of lemon - you cam add chicken -
its great tasting l tried it a multi cultural festival but l dont know the
name or ow to make it.
Okay, we might be on the right track here, I am not a Turk, but
this dish is known in almost every Mideastern country, It is called ''
Sembosik'' & there is a very easy way to make it:
Dough:
Step1: 1/2 Kg Full Grain flour, 1 tea spn salt, 1 egg.
Step2: Use the ingr. above with enough water to make regular dough'' you can also use milk instead of water'' Filling: Step1: 300 Gr. Sweet Goat Cheese ''make sure it is not salty 1 mid size Onion, 1 tea Spn salt, Dash of Black pepper, Juice of 1 lemon '' Add 1 Table sp. of crushed almonds to that when it is done :-)'' Step2: Fine chopped onion should be stir fried to golden color with the black pepper & lemon juice, remember to use olive oil for a better taste, once the filling is done, let it cool then add the cheese to it & mix it all together. Step3: Form the dough into Circles of desired size, place filling on one half, then fold the other & seal it closed, deep fry or bake in oven & Enjoy. NOTE: you can replace the cheese with Spinach, beef, or chicken.
It sounds like Lahmacun which is like a Turkish pizza. It is
normally topped with minced lamb but I am sure that the toppings can vary
( just like with pizza ). If you google 'Lahmacun' you will get plenty of
ideas.
